Egyptian cuisine is one of the most popular cuisines in the world. It is also one of the oldest cuisines in the world. Egyptian cuisine has been influenced by many other cultures including Greece, Rome, Turkey, and India.
The Egyptian diet is based on bread and rice as staples. They have a wide variety of breads including pita bread, baguettes, and croissants. Rice dishes are popular as well such as rice with lentils and fried onions or rice with a tomato sauce.
Egyptian cuisine is famous for its use of herbs and spices such as cumin, coriander seed, paprika powder, cinnamon sticks (used in stews), cloves (used in meat dishes), cilantro leaves (used in salads) and mint leaves.
Other Popular plate are the "Falafel":
The word "falafel" is the Arabic word for beans. It is a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both. Falafel are a traditional Middle Eastern food and are also eaten in other parts of the world, such as North Africa and Central Asia.
Falafel are typically served in a sandwich or wrapped in pita bread with vegetables and tahini sauce.
