There are many types of Arabic bread recipe that are popular in Egypt. One such recipe is the “Khameer” which is a type of Arab flatbread made from wheat flour and water. The dough for khameer is kneaded for about 15 minutes until it becomes elastic and then left to rise for about an hour before it is divided into small balls. These balls are then flattened out with a rolling pin until they become thin circles or ovals before they are cooked on a hot griddle or pan with butter or oil on both sides until they become golden brown. It takes about 45 minutes.
