Egypt has approved extending the “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” exhibition tour to Cologne, Germany, from July 13, 2024 to January 6, 2025.
The government approved the return of the wooden coffin of “Sangam” to Egypt, one of the artifacts on the exhibition’s list, after the end of its events at the Australian Museum in Sydney, Australia.
This brings the number of pieces in the exhibition to 180 artifacts.
The coffin is a valuable artifact from the 18th Dynasty of ancient Egypt, decorated with hieroglyphs and images of the deceased reflecting the rich culture of ancient Egypt.
The “Ramses and the Gold of the Pharaohs” exhibition began in November 2021 in Houston, Texas, and San Francisco, California, in the United States, followed by Paris, France.
The exhibition is currently in Sydney, Australia, and will leave in May 2024 for Cologne, Germany, and then Tokyo, Japan.
It features collection of artifacts from ancient Egypt, including statues, jewelry, and other objects.
The decision to continue the exhibition tour to Cologne is a significant one. It shows that the Egyptian government is committed to promoting Egyptian culture and history to the world.
It also shows that the exhibition proves to be popular and successful abroad. It is expected to lure an enormous number of visitors to Cologne and to boost tourism to the city and to Germany as a whole.
