The head of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG), Gad al-Qadi, revealed the details of the Edfu earthquake recorded by the National Seismic Network on Tuesday.
Qadi explained that the stations recorded an earthquake with a magnitude higher than four degrees on Richter scale east of Luxor, and some citizens felt it.
The stations immediately began analyzing the earthquake data.
Accordingly, the NRIAG issued a statement detailing the earthquake, which it said occurred 46 kilometers southeast of Luxor, at 1:18 am with a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale.
The statement added that the institute had received information confirming that there were no losses of life or property.
