Egypt to announce significant archaeological discovery in the Pyramids area in 2025

Zahi Hawass, renowned Egyptian archaeologist, a scientific mission is currently investigating the pyramid and significant archaeological findings may be revealed in 2025.

He explained that the committee that brings together the mission and Egyptian experts is set to meet in the coming days to discuss further research procedures.

This statement was made on the sidelines of a cultural symposium titled ‘Secrets of the Pharaohs’ held at the Suez Canal Simulation Center in Ismailia Governorate.

The symposium was attended by Major General Akram Mohamed Jalal, Governor of Ismailia, and Abdel Moneim Amarah, former Minister of Youth and Sports. The event took place at the Suez Canal Simulation Center in Ismailia.

Hawass added that “we are currently developing a specialized robot to explore what lies behind the Great Pyramid’s wall.”

In an earlier interview, Hawass has expressed his hope to turn the pyramids area into an open air museum.

“I wish the pyramid be transformed from a zoo into an open museum befitting the status of Egypt,” he said, implying criticism of the behaviors some tourists encounter there.

During an interview with “Akher al-Nahar” show with the journalist Tamer Amin, he noted that there are many aspects that both local and international tourist Express dissatisfaction with.

“When you go to the pyramids, you will find someone who would grab you surprisingly, and another who wants you to buy a camel or horse ride. It’s an ugly thing, and of course all tourists complain about it,” Hawass said.

“I’ve read a statement by a tourist on a website, in which she said that she would not repeat her visit to Egypt again due to harassment.”
